Test your skills – where is this new mall located – Dubai, Riyadh, Cairo, Qatar, Tehran, Other?

Video from new mall’s Grand Opening – February 18, 2017

Whom do we thank for the common conclusion that: a mall is a mall is a mall? Gertrude Stein, calcifying roses in her poem, Sacred Emily?   Or Shakespeare’s Juliet: “a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”

For husbands everywhere, roses and malls share beauty and thorns. The prickly part of shopping malls is shopping itself – the trek past dozens of pallid, frozen-faced mannequins clad in too expensive cloth, the alligator and leatherette shoes on plastic pyramids, the hats large enough to halt rays of a dwarf star, and aghast everywhere, the gaunt, underpaid college grads, sadly slumped at counters.

While the junior storekeepers may appear grim, attending a new mall opening is a session of exuberance by wives, and a test of patience by husbands, who often stand perplexed outside stores, while their spouses cruise aisles inside.

The video above exemplifies the joy of the fairest sex for a new mall. Men also attend, but many secretly believe that nearly all the “new” stores are really old stores with fresh facade lipstick.

Today’s quiz; where is this particular palace of purchasing located? Continue reading →

Democrats and human rights – why not cry for Jewish victims of Nazis ignored by Roosevelt?

Democrats crying over the temporary ban on immigration from seven terrorist sanctuaries might feel less entitled to a supposed high ground, when they look at the history of discrimination by the most liberal of our leaders.

William Shirer first exposed the Nazis’ systematic execution of individuals with physical or mental disabilities in the pages of Life magazine and Reader’s Digest in early 1941 – a program that would serve as a prototype for the the Holocaust.

ww2-holocaust-polandIn June 1942, word reached this country that the Nazis were planning to kill all the European Jews. A report smuggled from Poland to London described in detail the killing centers at Chelmno, Poland and use of gas vans. Estimates were that 700,000 people had already been killed.

Between 1933 and 1945 – during the presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt – only 11,000 Jews were permitted on average each year to enter the United States. That number was just 10% of those allowed under law, even though many hundreds of thousands were fleeing the Nazi hate machine..

For example, in 1939 the United States refused to allow 20,000 Jewish children to enter as refugees. The wife of the U.S. Commissioner of Immigration explained why at a cocktail party:

“20,000 children would all too soon grow up to be 20,000 ugly adults.”

To avoid admitting Jews, Democrats worked in vain to persuade Latin American countries and Great Britain to admit Jewish refugees. Continue reading →

Video proves John Forbes Kerry lied about Israel hampering Palestinians’ freedom of movement

When Secretary of State John Forbes Kerry sticks out his already protruding chin, you know he really means business, even if that business happens to be telling a lie.

kerryfondaIn his Dec. 28, 2016 speech that would have been hailed by the original Pinocchio, Kerry ripped into Israel, deploring their settlements and detesting their presence in that part of original Israel, now called the West Bank. (In 1949 Jordan it was a crime to call that area “Palestine“; Arabs maintained instead that it was a part of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.)

Kerry also noted that he had passed by “military checkpoints (in the West Bank) that can make even the most routine daily trips to work or school an ordeal” – delaying workers and travelers for hours every day.

While John Forbes is no expert on travel in the West Bank, Ami Horowitz has earned the title of On Site Expert. A New York-based documentary filmmaker, Horowitz decided to test for himself whether it takes West Bank Arabs hours to travel from place to place because of Israeli roadblocks.

In an interview with Israeli media outlets last week, Horowitz explained how he tested the checkpoint humiliation and delays of Arabs east of the Jordan River. Continue reading →

Israel gets two F-35s – only because fog lifts in Italy!

The F-35 is a $400 billion program to replace the current fleet of U.S. fighter planes for the Army, Air Force and Navy.f35

The program has serious problems.

Yesterday was an example. Two F-35s were set to arrive in the early afternoon  in Israel – the first delivered outside the United States.

Everyone seemed excited at first. Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter was there to praise the new fighters. Israel’s top officials had also gathered to greet the $100 million (each) planes.

“There’s no better symbol of the US commitment to Israel’s security that the F-35, the most capable aircraft in the skies,” Carter declared.

The excitement was palpable, as witness this Defense Department tweet: : F-35s will help U.S. and Israel air forces operate more jointly and more effectively. Together, we will dominate the skies.

John Forbes Kerry, Marty “Smarty” Indyk, and ??? – how foreign money influences State Department

Secretary of State John Forbes Kerry said Sunday he thinks Israel is “heading to a place of danger” because of settlement growth, and he had been “pushing uphill” with the Israeli government, because a majority of the ruling coalition does not support a two-state solution.

There’s a basic choice that has to be made. Are there going to be continued settlements, is there going to be continued implementation of the settlement policy, or is there going to be a separation and the creation of two states?

Kerry was speaking at the Brookings Institute, an organization whose leadership includes Martin Indyk, the man who ran John Kerry’s Continue reading →

J Street – funded by George Soros and ilk – will lose much power with Obama gone from White House

video courtesy of http://thejstreetchallenge.com

J Street is an alt-left group that wants Israel to return to the 1948 borders, leaving the country nine miles wide at its narrowest. It approves of removing all Jews from the West Bank, just as all Jews were removed from Gaza, and ignores the fact that there are some two million Arab full citizens in Israel.

And J Street believes that the United States should intervene to force this solution on the government of Israel.

Why would any organization approve of eliminating the entire Jewish population of a contested zone, leaving an Arab country that is “Jew-free”, just like Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc. Simply said, J Street believes it’s okay for Jews to be excluded totally from Arab nations, but Arabs must have full rights (they do) in Israel. Baraka smears Barack, Israel and Sanders in VP bid

ajamu_barakaGreen Party Presidential nominee Jill Stein‘s Vice President running mate, Ajamu Baraka, could be a step away from running our federal government. And that is frightening.

Baraka called Barack Obama an “Uncle Tom president.”  He is not happy with the government or much else.

He tweeted about the Baltimore riots:

“Don’t let Obama and the Democrats off the hook. They are using the state to suppress resistance while giving defacto impunity to cops that kill black and poor people across the country.”

He seems to prefer Donald Trump over President Obama: Continue reading →

Gary Johnson wants to cut 43% from Medicare and the Defense Dept., end the senior drug benefit, eliminate student loans, and stop taxing the rich

GoofyGary

Is the grass always greener?

It was a simple question to Gary Johnson in a 2012 interview, while running for President as the Libertarian candidate: How do you stop the deficits and out of control spending?

The answer from Johnson, who is currently managing 6% to 10% voter support in national polls:

A: Well, cutting $1.675 trillion from the federal government. You got to start out by talking about (cutting) Medicare and Medicaid by 43 percent. They could block grant the states, 50 laboratories of innovation. Give it to the states to deliver health care to the poor and those over 65 and do away with the strings. Do away with that regulations; let states handle it. There would be best practices emerge. Other states would emulate the best practices. They’re be failure. States would avoid the failure.

Johnson also wants to eliminate the Federal Income Tax, which would require huge program cuts in the federal budget to pay for it. His revenue solution would be a national 23% sales tax, plus virtual elimination of the earned Medicare benefit (now paid for by workers with a payroll tax). Continue reading →

Hamas wants you to visit the stunning Gaza Strip

The sign in Arabic says “Thank you, Hamas”

October is election month for municipalities in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, the first dive into Democracy in 11 years, and politicians everywhere know that the incumbents always want to put on a happy face.

But from the reports of starving children, the disabled tortured by Israeli troops, and a monumental lack of medicine and other supplies, you would think that things were really bad in Gaza.

hamas

Haven’t seen crowds like this since WW2

How bad? The video above was prepared by Hamas to show that things aren’t horrible – in fact, they’re just peachy or whatever that term is in Arabic. People are smiling and holding up signs, saying “Thank you, Hamas.”

Everyone in the video seems so happy, and you wonder how Hamas could produce fake beaches and shopping centers and mansions for the filming. But then, maybe they didn’t produce propaganda from sets, just filmed reality.

At least now, the EU leaders can see what hundreds of millions of Euros goes for in their annual aid projects. They have created a tourist destination a sight prettier than the slums of Paris or the hovels in Athens for unemployed Greeks.

Another view of Gaza, missing from the tourist and election pitch, is the effort to train teens in the proper way to murder a Jew, as illustrated in the following video:

Bush & Romney warn they may vote Libertarian for Gary Johnson, recent CEO of Cannabis Sativa, Inc.

Gary

Johnson also ran in 2012 for President

UPDATE: (July 23, 2016) Rumors swirling today that Jeb Bush may announce that he will vote for Gary Johnson, joining the smoking car on the Libertarian train to nowhere  No word yet from Bush the elder, Bush the brother or mama Bush.

Former Republican Presidential nominee Willard Mitt Romney said recently he would not vote for presumptive nominee Donald Trump in the general election in November and would consider voting for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson.

Romney’s running mate in 2012, Paul Ryan, has also been described as a Libertarian, although he votes as a Republican. His consideration to vote for Johnson, Romney explained, is because he doesn’t regard Donald Trump as a true conservative. Johnson ran against Romney in 2012 for the nomination.

Here’s what “true conservative” Gary Johnson believes, gleaned from press interviews: Continue reading →
