Hospital room here now costs about 20 times as much as in country with longest life expectancy

Do you suffer from a really bad heart, cancer, or need dialysis, and still want to buy health insurance?

If you can find a company in the U.S.A. that will cover you, the price will be many thousands of dollars a month with a cap on total payments, plus co-pays through the roof. If you don’t die rather quickly, our health system will devour your savings, house, car and force close relatives into poverty.

One alternative is to move to Japan, stay with a visa good for more than three months, and you will become part of their health system, which means: Continue reading →

If we treat the military budget like Social Security, Army will consist of one “Mad Dog” and 3 puppies

The Social Security Trust Fund now totals $2,892,000,000  – just about the highest amount in history, and some scolds are still sad.

Mr. Gloom

To promote their austerity charade, the front groups of the Koch Brothers (descendants of the co-founder of the John Birch Society) just released their attack dog, John Stossel.

J. S. rants on FOX News about silly things, even suggesting everyone should save some 20% of their wages for retirement and maintaining that the poor don’t need luxuries like public schools or highways.

Social Security is running out of money. You may not believe that, but it’s a fact. That FICA money taken from your paycheck was not saved for you in a “trust fund.” Politicians misled us. They spent every penny the moment it came in. – Stossel (worth $4 million) laments.

A half million will sleep on the streets tonight, but nothing seems to wake up Congress to this tragedy

The smoking guns in mass killings may not be just the weapons, but also the danger posed by the untreated mentally ill, who are responsible for ten percent of homicides in the U.S.A., according to the Treatment Advocacy Center.

And many of these mentally impaired are nearly dead, forgotten, sleeping in cardboard boxes, homeless because of a federal program launched in 1963 by JFK, that has become deadly, useless and exorbitant.

Our do-nothing Congress knows the danger, but the homeless don’t vote or give politicians payoffs.

The National Institute of Mental Health focuses on the problem this way: Continue reading →

Band of Bozos agrees to protect foreign-based firms from any competition by companies in the U.S.A. How can American workers compete with slaves?

It is bad news to uncover a Band of Bozos who are  dedicated to make foreign companies rich at the expense of American workers. Their plan is to prevent any current or future tariffs on goods no longer made in the U.S.A. That would include more than 1,600 products listed by the International Trade Commission, an organization dedicated to global progress at the expense of this country..

The Bozos ignore reality.  Every country protects its own industries until they become strong enough to survive without protection from foreign dumping and currency manipulation.

China, for example, currently has a 25% tariff on U.S. cars and soybeans. The Europeans have duties of 25% on U.S. motorcycles, boats, whiskey and even peanut butter. Nearly all nations, except the U.S., also have a Value Added Tax which affects all imports with double digit fees. Continue reading →
