A tale of horror, high fares, privatization and how we give our nation’s wealth to foreign companies
In the two years from 1942 to 1944, some 76,000 French Jews were deported to Nazi death camps by Societé Nationale des Chemins de fer Francais (SNCF), France’s national railway corporation under the Vichy Republic. Of those Jews, it is estimated that 74,000 were killed.
In 2014, after numerous lawsuits and a failed PR campaign that attempted to portray wartime railroad employees resisting orders to deport Jews, the SNCF created a $60 million reimbursement fund for French Holocaust survivors and their families. It was small compensation for entire families murdered.
SNCF in 2010 ranked 214th globally on the Fortune Global 500 list. Continue reading →
Don’t believe every headline, but there may be truth to the one on this blog.
The reason? There’s many a happy smile in places like Iran, now that one of our Presidential candidates has joined Noam Chomsky’s cult – the one that uses propaganda to express hate, not just signs in Arabic like “Death to Israel” on long-range missiles.
Chomsky, who has publicly endorsed his friend Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination, has strong views about just which group of Americans (Jews) should be named as the chief target of an aggressive campaign of class warfare against “the rich and privileged”, whom Sanders is daily berating. A Philadelphia public school that beat the preps and the 1940 NYPD class that excelled with no legacies
Every high school class has organizers, those busy, enthusiastic souls who run for student council, plan proms and after they graduate, are drawn to suggesting alumni events. The latest test for me to remember classmate names was on Saturday night at Central High School’s 211th class’ 75th member birthday party.
The original graduating class in 1959 had some 210 students; 46 have died. Ours was not the most remarkable class in the school’s history. A list of notable graduates from all classes is here.
In fact, it was good that some of the 211th weren’t there – Rev. Jeremy Wright, for example, who was rebuked by President Barack Obama. Or Kermit Gosnell, an abortion doctor, justly serving time for hideous acts.
There were special moments. Standing together for a class picture, Classmate Richard Donald Smith, who is blind, entertaining with a flute rendition of our school song. It was that kind of night.
Central was an all boys, public high school in Philadelphia, when I attended. There was a brutal entrance exam, also known as an I.Q. test, and the minimum score was 115, and the average was 125. There were 15 other public highs and 16 Catholic high schools in the city, all of them easier and more fun. We went to Central because our parents “suggested” we compete for entrance, and so we braced ourselves. Continue reading →
radioislam.org spews hatred, as though chicken lives don’t matter! Ritual said to satisfy Satan, who also hates chickens?
The crazies who hate Jews often rave about the banks, Hollywood, Passover blood and, of course, Israel.
But what about chickens?
I don’t mean Jews and chicken soup used in place of antibiotics. Or that some haters say Jews are “chickens.” Nor do I bring up the White House spokesman who called the Israeli Prime Minister “chicken turd” or some term like that.
The true anti-Semites are obsessed with real chickens and real Jews, as in the following video, courtesy of the radioislam.org site and the insane asylum where it was produced:
And for those of you who think this is isolated mental disorder, here are some stills (these are supposed to be shocking?) about Jews and chickens, also from the best little hate site in town – radioislam.org: Continue reading →
The BDS movement (advertisement above) is just about Israel and its policies towards the Palestinians, we have been told by some American media pundits and politicians.
RadioIslam.org reminds its readers that “Posters/banners are an excellent weapon in the war against Jewish chauvinism and propaganda. Be a fighter yourself and spread these pics through blogs, sites, mails – whatever channels you can access.”
On the issue of BDS they propose sending out these other BDS messages from their website:
If we dig deeper into radioislam.org (and probably most BDS support groups) we find a darker message, as the site suggests on another page. It is no longer an attack on Israel and its policies. It is not about the so-called settlements, or “occupation” of land conquered in war.
It’s hate of Jews.
White House intervenes in PA conviction for sanctioning brutal murder of 33 Jews, says Arabs can’t afford $30 million a month
The Obama administration has gone to a New York court to insure the finances of the Palestinian Authority stay rock solid, despite conviction by an American court in connection with the murder of 33 Jews and injuries to 450 others.
Obama’s justice department asked a United States judge yesterday (Aug. 10) to “carefully consider” the size of the bond he sets for the Palestinian Authority while it appeals an award for damages in deaths and injuries of Americans in six terror attacks in Israel.
The payment suggested by the plaintiffs was $30 million a month – an amount insignificant in the Arab world economies. For example, the payment would represent one six-millionth of the annual GDP of Qatar, the great supporter of Hamas and other Palestinian causes. Despite the miniscule amount, the Obama team maintains the economic impact would devastate the “Authority” and cause its downfall.
Not mentioned in the White House intervention is that the P.A. is headed to the International Criminal Court to attack Israel for imagined war crimes, and this would set Continue reading →
1,709,900 Arab full voting citizens in Israel. Meanwhile, 12 Jews alive in Egypt, 45 in Yemen, 50 in Syria and 0 in Saudi Arabia.
While the U.S. White house is moaning about why one political party in Israel complained about “droves” of voters being driven by foreigners to polls in a “get out the vote” effort, the racist, apartheid policies of the Promised Land’s neighbors go unspoken.
Forgetting Gaza and the West Bank – where there have been no elections for a decade – and ignoring American apologists, who complain that Israel is never sufficiently democratic, looking around the Mideast one learns that the “Juden Free” movement did not die with our victory in World War II, but has continued unabated in many Arab nations.
For example, Mexico has 1.5 times the population of Egypt, and 5,618 times as many Jews. Even more unbelievable, Afghanistan has one. And there is probably not one Jew alive in either Saudi Arabia or Iraq, except some brave U.S. soldiers entrusted with protecting local human rights that don’t exist in much profusion.
Whenever there is a natural disaster and Israel sends the Israel Defense Force and others to help neighboring nations, even 100 Jewish Israelis would eclipse the Jewish population of places like Bahrain (36 Jews), Lebanon (40 Jews), Yemen (45 Jews), Syria (50 Jews) or Algeria (50 Jews).
Lest you think that Jews live in large numbers only in the U.S. and Israel, justifying these tiny numbers in Arab countries, look at other populations of Jews in not the most Jewish-friendly countries: Turkey (17,300 Jews), Panama (10,000 Jews), Columbia (4,500 Jews), or Costa Rica (2,500 Jews). For a complete list go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_population_by_country.
Where is the outrage when a country with 26.5 million people – Afghanistan – has one Jewish resident, or 0.00000314239% of the population? Instead, the pundits at George Soros’ J Street, NYT and the Christian Science Monitor are obsessed with Israel, where more than 20% of the population are Arabs with full rights as citizens.
If you want the President to treat Israel with the same respect it treats racist Arab nations, end his bickering with Israel, and explain these statistics to his errant State Department, please write:
