Video from new mall’s Grand Opening – February 18, 2017
Whom do we thank for the common conclusion that: a mall is a mall is a mall? Gertrude Stein, calcifying roses in her poem, Sacred Emily? Or Shakespeare’s Juliet: “a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”
For husbands everywhere, roses and malls share beauty and thorns. The prickly part of shopping malls is shopping itself – the trek past dozens of pallid, frozen-faced mannequins clad in too expensive cloth, the alligator and leatherette shoes on plastic pyramids, the hats large enough to halt rays of a dwarf star, and aghast everywhere, the gaunt, underpaid college grads, sadly slumped at counters.
While the junior storekeepers may appear grim, attending a new mall opening is a session of exuberance by wives, and a test of patience by husbands, who often stand perplexed outside stores, while their spouses cruise aisles inside.
The video above exemplifies the joy of the fairest sex for a new mall. Men also attend, but many secretly believe that nearly all the “new” stores are really old stores with fresh facade lipstick.
Today’s quiz; where is this particular palace of purchasing located? Continue reading →
Secretary of State John Forbes Kerry said Sunday he thinks Israel is “heading to a place of danger” because of settlement growth, and he had been “pushing uphill” with the Israeli government, because a majority of the ruling coalition does not support a two-state solution.
There’s a basic choice that has to be made. Are there going to be continued settlements, is there going to be continued implementation of the settlement policy, or is there going to be a separation and the creation of two states?

The sign in Arabic says “Thank you, Hamas”
October is election month for municipalities in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, the first dive into Democracy in 11 years, and politicians everywhere know that the incumbents always want to put on a happy face.
But from the reports of starving children, the disabled tortured by Israeli troops, and a monumental lack of medicine and other supplies, you would think that things were really bad in Gaza.
How bad? The video above was prepared by Hamas to show that things aren’t horrible – in fact, they’re just peachy or whatever that term is in Arabic. People are smiling and holding up signs, saying “Thank you, Hamas.”
Everyone in the video seems so happy, and you wonder how Hamas could produce fake beaches and shopping centers and mansions for the filming. But then, maybe they didn’t produce propaganda from sets, just filmed reality.
At least now, the EU leaders can see what hundreds of millions of Euros goes for in their annual aid projects. They have created a tourist destination a sight prettier than the slums of Paris or the hovels in Athens for unemployed Greeks.
Another view of Gaza, missing from the tourist and election pitch, is the effort to train teens in the proper way to murder a Jew, as illustrated in the following video:
Don’t believe every headline, but there may be truth to the one on this blog.
The reason? There’s many a happy smile in places like Iran, now that one of our Presidential candidates has joined Noam Chomsky’s cult – the one that uses propaganda to express hate, not just signs in Arabic like “Death to Israel” on long-range missiles.
Chomsky, who has publicly endorsed his friend Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination, has strong views about just which group of Americans (Jews) should be named as the chief target of an aggressive campaign of class warfare against “the rich and privileged”, whom Sanders is daily berating. White House intervenes in PA conviction for sanctioning brutal murder of 33 Jews, says Arabs can’t afford $30 million a month
The Obama administration has gone to a New York court to insure the finances of the Palestinian Authority stay rock solid, despite conviction by an American court in connection with the murder of 33 Jews and injuries to 450 others.
Obama’s justice department asked a United States judge yesterday (Aug. 10) to “carefully consider” the size of the bond he sets for the Palestinian Authority while it appeals an award for damages in deaths and injuries of Americans in six terror attacks in Israel.
The payment suggested by the plaintiffs was $30 million a month – an amount insignificant in the Arab world economies. For example, the payment would represent one six-millionth of the annual GDP of Qatar, the great supporter of Hamas and other Palestinian causes. Despite the miniscule amount, the Obama team maintains the economic impact would devastate the “Authority” and cause its downfall.
Not mentioned in the White House intervention is that the P.A. is headed to the International Criminal Court to attack Israel for imagined war crimes, and this would set Continue reading →
