Senator Tom Cotton (R-ARK) recently challenged the perpetual talking point used to rationalize taking away American jobs to give them to H-2B Visa holders.
A lot of the arguments for this kind of program boil down to this: No American worker will do that job. That is a lie. It is a lie. There is no job that Americans will not do.
If the wage is decent and the employer obeys the law, Americans will do the job. And if it’s not, they should pay higher wages. To say anything else is an insult to the work ethic of the American people, who make this country run.
Sounds like “Make America Great Again” – President Donald Trump’s rally call – but the White House apparently wasn’t listening to Cotton Continue reading →
A high ranking U.S. official, suggested on Sunday that the missiles fired by Houthis at the destroyer USS Mason on three attacks, while it was in the Gulf of Aden, were provided by Iran. Senator John McCain and others strongly agreed.
As voters ponder their candidates for President, Bernie Sanders was asked this past week to release more than just one year of tax returns and Donald Trump hasn’t released any recent years’, because of an IRS audit.
However, if you are into examining tax returns, why not review the 2013 Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation IRS filings? Just click on: IRS 990 – December 2013 The 83-page document can be viewed or downloaded.
Earlier years are available here:
The Clinton Foundation is huge, and has been on the Charity Navigator (CN) watch list until December 2015. The charity is currently not rated by CN for the following reason:
We had previously evaluated this organization, but have since determined that this charity’s atypical business model can not be accurately captured in our current rating methodology. Our removal of The Clinton Foundation from our site is neither a condemnation nor an endorsement of this charity. We reserve the right to reinstate a rating for The Clinton Foundation as soon as we identify a rating methodology that appropriately captures its business model, CN explained..
The watchdog group said that in accordance with their policy for removing charities from the CN Watchlist, Charity Navigator removed the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation Continue reading →
Don’t believe every headline, but there may be truth to the one on this blog.
The reason? There’s many a happy smile in places like Iran, now that one of our Presidential candidates has joined Noam Chomsky’s cult – the one that uses propaganda to express hate, not just signs in Arabic like “Death to Israel” on long-range missiles.
Chomsky, who has publicly endorsed his friend Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination, has strong views about just which group of Americans (Jews) should be named as the chief target of an aggressive campaign of class warfare against “the rich and privileged”, whom Sanders is daily berating. Whether you like a candidate or not, ask yourself what kind of behavior should be accepted – even promoted – by the public media, when an event is held in a private venue? Were you shocked when a mob screamed and tore up signs just to disrupt a rally in Chicago? Is there any difference between a rented hall and a church, synagogue or mosque? Finally, what distinguishes a private, ticketed rally being swarmed, and the same crowd descending into your living room and screaming at you?
Jaymal (aka: Jamal) Green was interviewed (in the video above) by Megyn Kelly on FOX News Friday night, last week, and he was treated as a community activist. He opposes Donald Trump, and said that is why he led the effort to cancel the Chicago rally.
Megyn has many guests like this, who dislike Trump, and frankly it’s beginning to remind me of two co-workers having a secret affair, but constantly arguing at work to hide their romance from the rest of the staff.
In the spirit of searching for a new John Galt, a few keystrokes revealed that Jaymal’s Twitter page is called Your Favorite Singer and uses a picture of Bernie and Jaymal together, as the profile shot. For those into music, Jaymal has even written a theme song for Sanders, which he sells for 99 cents on cdbaby. But (for a limited time only) you can hear it free on this blog.
More keying brought up Jamal’s ties to the Chicago political establishment. In August 2012, Chicago Police invited Ja’Mal (another name he uses) Green “to keynote speak for a youth march. After inspiring so many young people, Ja’Mal was invited again to speak and he was given the community leadership award by the new (police) superintendent Gary McCarthy.” Continue reading →
From Feel the Bern, the above video distorts history and defames Israel
Nearly everyone likes funny, warm Bernie Sanders.
And once upon a time he was a Jew, working in Israel. Now, he isn’t advertising it.
Instead, he portrays himself as an agnostic Jew, not practicing his religion, but apparently trying to be more popular because of it.
NBC gave him a “two for” this past weekend.
Saturday Night Live viewers on NBC saw him spoofing the “typical” Jew, just getting off the early 20th century ship, boasting a European cap and accent, enjoying his name change to be more accepted by the Gentiles. This performance was Bernie’s donation to stereotyping Jews as self-involved schleps, while subtly contrasting himself with the no-good, strong, proud Jews of Israel. Rochester would be proud. “Yes, Mr. Bernie!”
Meet the Press on NBC Sunday showed another side of Sanders. When asked about foreign policy experience, he actually said:
We’ve talked to people like Jim Zogby, talked to the people on J Street to get a broad perspective of the Middle East.
Both J Street and Zogby have continually criticized Israel for its policies in the Palestinian territories. No mention was made by Sanders of any pro-Israel experts.
Sanders has said that he thinks the Palestinians should get more financial help from the U.S., and Israel should have its military aid cut. He almost agrees word for word with Arab League proposals, when he Continue reading →
Tonight is the first Democrat debate on CNN, and participants should, but won’t, chime in on the latest book by Mideast maven Dennis Ross – “Doomed to Succeed: the US-Israel relationship from Truman to Obama.”
Released today, the tome skewers Susan Rice and reveals she is one of the reasons why the Barack Obama White House is dysfunctional when dealing with Israel, and the administration has no coherent policy to solve the never-ending conflict between Arabs and Jews.
Ross has major credentials in any assessment of Rice:
- During President Carter’s administration, Ross worked for Deputy Asst Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz in the Pentagon. There he co-authored a study urging greater U.S. intervention in the Persian Gulf “because of our need for… oil and because events in the Persian Gulf affect the Arab–Israeli conflict.”
- Under President Reagan, Ross was director of Near East and South Asian affairs in the National Security Council and Deputy Director of the Pentagon’s Office of Net Assessment (1982–84).
- In the mid-1980s Ross co-founded, with the infamous Martin Indyk, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
- Under President George H. W. Bush, Ross was director of the U.S. State Department’s Policy Planning Staff, working on U.S. policy toward the former Soviet Union, reunification of Germany and its integration into NATO, and the 1991 Gulf War. He also worked with Secretary of State James Baker on convincing Arab and Israeli leaders to attend the 1991 Middle East peace conference.
- In 1993 President Clinton named Ross the Middle East envoy. He helped Israel and Palestinians reach the 1995 Interim Agreement on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, then brokered the Protocol Concerning the Redeployment in Hebron in 1997. He also facilitated the Israel–Jordan peace treaty.
- Ross was appointed Special Adviser for the Persian Gulf and Southwest Asia to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on February 23, 2009. On June 25 that year the White House announced that Ross was leaving the State Department to join the National Security Council staff as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for the Central Region – the Middle East, the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, Pakistan and South Asia.
Paul Anthony Gosar plans to skip the upcoming address to Congress by Pope Francis, the religious leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
Gosar, representing Arizona’s 4th District in the House of Representatives, said the Pope has “adopted all of the socialist talking points, wrapped false science and ideology into ‘climate justice’ and is being presented to guilt people into leftist policies.” The Pope is expected to attend, despite Gosar’s opinion of him.
Gosar joins U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders in adopting a strange aversion to his heritage. In Gosar’s case, he attended Creighton Jesuit University (the pope is also Jesuit) and the congressman has never renounced his Catholic Faith.
Sanders also refused to attend a speech to Congress this past Spring by the Prime Minister of the Jewish homeland of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu. Sanders said he disagreed with the Continue reading →
